Expanding its portfolio of affordable devices, Motorola has launched the Moto G22 model in Europe. It carries a price-tag of €170 (roughly Rs. 14,000) and is expected to go on sale in the coming days. As is expected of a 2022 budget smartphone, the handset offers a 90Hz display, a 4G processor, Android 12 OS support and a quad rear camera system.

The Motorola Moto G22 had leaked in all its glory a couple of days back and now, Motorola has gone ahead to make it official. The company is yet to reveal the availability details of the device but it is likely to go on sale soon. The Moto G22 is a budget offering and takes on entry-level handsets from rivals like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Nokia.

The Motorola Moto G22 bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ration and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has a punch-hole cut-out in the top-center with noticeable bezels, a plastic body, and a water-resistant construction. It has a fingerprint scanner on the right rail and a quad camera unit on the rear.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the quad rear camera system on the Motorola Moto G22 includes a 50MP (f/1.8) main sensor, an 8MP (Æ’/2.2) 118-degree ultra-wide lens, a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP (f/2.45) front camera. The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging via the Type-C port. 

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto G22 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable by up to 1TB). At the heart, it runs on Android 12 OS out of the box. You also get support for all the standard features such as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-SIMs, and a headphone jack.

For pricing ang availability, the Motorola Moto G22 is priced at €170 (roughly Rs. 14,000). The smartphone comes in Iceberg Blue, Cosmic Black, and Pearl White colors. It will become available in selected European markets first, and will arrive in Middle East, Latin America, and Asia in the coming weeks.
