Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new mid-range device, called the 12 Lite 5G. In the latest development, Xiaomiui has reported that the handset will be introduced soon in Asia and Europe. The report also states internal testing of the smartphone in both markets has already begun. Previously, it was spotted on the IMEI database with the model number 2203129G.
The latest addition to the Xiaomi 12 series, the 12 Lite 5G, will join the vanilla 12, 12X, and 12 Pro. The trio was launched globally on March 15. The news that a budget-friendly mid-ranger will soon join them is music to the ears of many. If rumors are to be believed, it will borrow specifications from the Xiaomi CIVI and Xiaomi 12.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will bear a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and support for the Always On Display (AOD) feature. The smartphone will feature a centrally-aligned punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it will have a vertical camera unit.
In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will be equipped with a triple rear camera module, including a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 main shooter, an ultrawide sensor, and a macro lens. Up front, it will sport a single selfie snapper. The smartphone may house a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G shall be powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ 5G chipset, paired with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. At the heart, it would boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 OS out of the box. For connectivity options, the smartphone should offer support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS,5G,and a Type-C port.
The official pricing and availability details of the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G smartphone will be announced by the Chinese tech company at the time of its launch. However, we expect the handset to start at around Rs. 25,000. The device may comes in Alpine White, and Solstice Grey colour options.
