Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next foldable phone, called the Mi MIX Fold 2. In the latest development, specifications of the device have surfaced online, courtesy of Digital Chat Station. As per the leak, it will feature , a 120Hz internal display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip, and a better crease. It may go official in the second half of this year.

Although a market leader, Xiaomi has been a relatively quiet player in the foldable segment. After its first foldable last March, it hasn't launched any such smartphone. Now, reports suggest that a new foldable from the Xiaomi stable is getting ready. Called the Mi MIX Fold 2, it is expected to offer an incremental improvement over its predecessor, and not an overhaul.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 2 will bear a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ cover display with a 60Hz refresh rate and an 8.0-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and DC dimming. The smartphone will feature a book-like inward folding design with a "slightly better" crease than its predecessor. It will offer stylus support

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 2 is likely to be equipped with a triple rear camera unit, including a 108MP main shooter and two unspecified sensors. The smartphone will house a 5,000mAh battery that may support 120W fast-charging.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 2 will be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC that is based on TSMC's 4nm manufacturing platform. At the heart, it should boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 OS out of the box. For connectivity, the smartphone will offer support for 5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, and a Type-C port.

For official pricing and availability, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 2 is expected to be available in the second half of 2022. As for the colour options, the smartphone may come in Black colours. It is unclear whether the Chinese tech company will launch the phone outside China or not since its predecessor never made it to the other markets.
