Sad news came back from the Korean music world. One of the Produce 101 Season 2 contestants, Jeong Joong Ji reportedly died. This was revealed by the Twitter account belonging to Jeong Joong Ji's mother. In her tweet, the mother of the late said her son died by suicide.
"My son Jeong Ji decided to end his life," wrote Jeong Joong Ji's mother. "Right now I can't express how I feel," he continued. According to the information revealed by his mother later, Jeong Joong Ji died by suicide on September 9, 2022. Jeong Joong Ji breathed his last at the age of 30.
Meanwhile, Jeong Joong Ji was first known to the public when he was a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. Unfortunately, during the announcement of the top 60, he had to be eliminated. Jeong Joong Ji ended his struggle in Produce 101 Season 2 after getting 64th position.
He got 86,864 votes. During his life, Jeong Joong Ji also tried starring in a number of dramas. These include Prison and The Essence of Love. Jeong Joong Ji even won the Hanbit Award for the actor category organized by the Hallyu Selection Committee. He also once greeted fans through the first fan meeting in 2018.
