The public was recently shocked by a netizen who claimed to have a hat belonging to BTS 's Jungkook. He also sold it at a price of KRW 10 billion or Rp. 100 million. The person claims Jungkook left his hat in the waiting room of the Passport Department at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At that time, he was visiting with BTS to make a passport. The inventor posted a photo together with his PNS ID card. He claimed ownership of the hat because no one had called or visited the place for the past six months after it was reported as missing.
However, it was later revealed that there was no record of the hat being reported as a lost item from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the State Police Agency. Because this became a controversy, the person deleted the post and turned himself in to the police.
Now, the Seocho, Seoul police have announced that they have completed an investigation into a former employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who wanted to sell Jungkook's hat. BTS's agency, HYBE, has also responded to the police by confirming that the hat in question is Jungkook's.
"Jungkook really lost his hat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," said the HYBE party. When this issue was raised during the Foreign Ministry's general audit by the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee held on October 24, Minister Park Jin confirmed that he would handle it according to the rules.
In the end, the former employee turned himself in. He admitted to all the accusations leveled against him. The police are currently reviewing the legal principles for possible charges against the perpetrators. However, it is still undecided whether the hat will be returned or not.
