Officially making a comeback on April 24, 2023, Seventeen appeared with their new album titled ' FML '. The album whose title had confused Carat (a term for Seventeen fans) turned out to be a record-breaker for the best -selling K-Pop album sales. The 13-member boy group's 10th mini album has sold 2.5 million copies in just one week.
Quoting Soompi, 'FML' has become the first album in Hanteo history to sell more than 3 million copies on the first day. Hanteo Chart has now reported that “FML” managed to sell a record-breaking total of 4,550,214 copies in its first week of release (April 24 to 30), making SEVENTEEN the only artist in K-pop history to surpass 4 million sales in one week.
SEVENTEEN not only broke the record for the highest first week sales in Hanteo history, but his album 'FML' has set a new record for the highest total album sales to date. (Both records previously belonged to BTS' 2020 album "Map of the Soul: 7," which sold over 3.3 million copies in its first week and has since sold over 4.2 million copies.)
The FML album itself consists of six songs in it. The two main songs, titled 'F*ck My Life' and 'Super', succeeded in getting the listeners' heads up because they were addictive. The lyrics of the two songs are also very motivating and spread positive energy to Carats who listen.
Because as explained by the Seventeen members, this album invites us to stay passionate in life. Don't even feel trapped and hopeless. Considering that most Seventeen fans come from young people who are in need of this kind of motivation. And yaps! Seventeen succeeded in carrying out its mission.
This is evident from the achievement of this album which managed to break a record on the Hanteo album chart. How about you? Have you heard and been motivated by Seventeen's FML album yet? Don't stress too much, yes, mental health is important and really needs to be maintained. Congratulations Seventeen on their new achievement!
