Recently ITZY member, Lia, has become a concern of fans due to her declining health. The musician is reportedly sick and will be absent from the group's activity schedule for a while. This was stated directly by JYP Entertainment as the agency that oversees ITZY on Saturday September 2, 2023.
According to his official announcement, the musician born in 2000 was forced to miss ITZY's appearance on MBC "Music Core" as well as Fansign & Video Call. "Hello, we are JYP Entertainment. We would like to inform you regarding the health condition of member Lia.
Due to her declining health condition, Lia will be absent from the following group schedules," said JYP Entertainment, reported by Allkpop on Saturday September 2, 2023. "MBC 'Music Core', Fansign & Video Call (we will contact the selected winners)," continued the agency.
JYP Entertainment also explained that it would contact MIDZY who was selected at the Fansign & Video Call event to be able to chat with Lia separately. Closing the announcement, the agency asked for understanding from fans as a result of the decision that had to be made.
They also promised to help Lia recover her health to the maximum. "We made this decision because we prioritize the health of our artists above all else. We ask for understanding from fans. We will do our best to help our artists recover. Thank you," concluded JYP Entertainment.
On a different occasion, Lia became the talk of the town after being caught on camera suffering from pain in the middle of ITZY's fansign schedule. In the video, the owner of the real name Choi Ji-su looks anxious, occasionally holding his neck. Lia is suspected of having a Hernia Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) or commonly known as a pinched nerve.
The clip circulating on online forums immediately attracted curiosity and concern from fans. Lia's condition became increasingly worrying after ITZY uploaded a photo of the foursome consisting only of Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna.
Meanwhile, ITZY is currently busy with a comeback promotion schedule through an album titled KILL MY DOUBT which was released on July 31, 2023. The singer of the song "Not Shy" is also rumored to be releasing the Japanese album Ringo on October 18, 2023.
