South Korean boy group, iKON finally officially controls the group's trademark after one year of leaving YG Entertainment. All iKON members previously decided to leave the agency that made their name at the end of 2022. However, they have not yet fully obtained a trademark for the name iKON.
However, recently the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) revealed that all 13 trademarks for the name of the K-pop group "iKON" had changed hands to its six members, namely Jay iKON, Song iKON, Bobby iKON, DK iKON, iKON's June, and iKON's Chanwoo.
The 13 trademarks cover the classification of goods or services required by iKON. One of them is printed material for albums, photobooks, posters and several other materials for advertising and marketing needs. The trademark rights officially changed hands on August 23, the same day when iKON released the song "Panorama".
Before deciding to leave YG Entertainment, iKON released their last mini album under the agency with the title Flashback . Through this comeback, iKON also carried out a concert tour in Japan. Exactly on December 30 2022, the six iKON personnel announced the end of their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment as a group.
YG Entertainment also confirmed this decision by releasing an official statement. "To respect each other's opinions, we agreed to end the exclusive contract at the end of their contract period," wrote YG Entertainment. Not long after, iKON again surprised fans by announcing the continuation of their group's career by joining the agency 143 Entertainment .
Even though at that time iKON did not yet have full control over the group's trademark, all members managed to make a comeback by releasing the album Take Off last May. In iKON's latest comeback, Bobby was given the opportunity to write the seven new songs on the album.
Apart from him, there are also June and DK who also took part in making their respective group songs and solo songs. Recently, iKON will once again greet fans in Indonesia through a concert entitled 2023 iKON WORLD TOUR TAKE OFF which will be held at Tennis Indoor Senayan on November 19, 2023.
