Nicole Kidman was once a victim of bullying because she was above average height. When she was little, this 180 cm tall woman was often teased by her school friends who nicknamed her 'Stalky' (stalk). Even when she became a successful actress, her height was still joked about.
The 56-year-old woman recalls the time when she was considered too tall to survive in the Hollywood entertainment industry. "I was told I wouldn't have a career in acting because it was too high," Nicole told Radio Times magazine.
The wife of country singer Keith Urban is also often commented on about her height when she wears high heels, which make her look even taller. "People would say, 'How's the air up there?'" she said. "Now, I often get told, 'You're much taller than I thought,'" he continued.
Therefore, Nicole makes sure she wears the right shoes, ones with not too high heels. Often he was sent shoes with very high heels which annoyed him. "Every time I want to appear on the red carpet, I always get sent shoes with very high heels. I'm like, 'Do they have kitten heels? I'll be the tallest person - like a giraffe!'" she joked.
Nicole also said that she once didn't qualify for a role because of her height. At that time he auditioned for the musical film 'Annie', but was immediately rejected even before the audition, because his body exceeded the maximum height limit of 160 cm.
Nicole even persuaded the production team to allow her to at least audition. "I didn't get the role. I didn't even get a callback – but at least I could sing four lines in one chorus," she concluded.
