The conflict between EXO's Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (EXO-CBX) and their former agency, SM Entertainment, is getting hotter day by day. Recently Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have announced their plans to counter-sue SM Entertainment for unfair profit distribution.

Previously, the three EXO members held a press conference aimed at revealing that the agency had not kept their promise regarding the music distribution fee of 5.5% for INB100. INB100 is a new label founded by Baekhyun, and also houses Chen and Xiumin.

They also claimed that SM Entertainment's demand for 10% of their income from individual activities was unfair. In response, SM Entertainment confirmed that because CBX had terminated their exclusive contract with the agency prematurely, they had personally signed an agreement stipulating that they would pay 10% of their earnings to SM Entertainment.

The agency also stated that there was no clause in their final agreement regarding distribution fees, as SM Entertainment does not have the power to decide how much fees will be paid. Following the release of an additional statement by CBX, SM Entertainment announced that they would be taking legal action against the three to demand fulfillment of their contracts.

Quoting from Soompi on Friday June 14, 2024, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin released a new statement announcing that they would sue SM Entertainment for unfair profit sharing. Regarding the 10% figure, they claimed that they actively proposed a fee payment agreement for SM Entertainment's music, assets and name, instead of 10% of their income, but SM ignored the proposal.

In the end, they decided to file a lawsuit because SM Entertainment did not provide any response. Through this lawsuit, CBX will claim their fair rights by receiving accounting data and profit distribution as determined by law and their exclusive contracts.

Not only did they release a statement regarding their planned legal action, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin also apologized personally to fans for this commotion. "To our fans who always send us love and support and should only receive joy, we feel very sorry for making you anxious and disappointed because of the same problems as last year," said CBX.

They added, "Going forward, we will keep official statements to a minimum, and we will try to resolve this situation quickly." Finally, the three of them promised to remain Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin who can forever be with fans. Now, fans hope that this conflict will be resolved soon.
