Incheon International Airport Management has reportedly reported Byeon Woo Seok's security team to the police, which caused controversy over 'excessive security' towards the actor on July 12, 2024. According to a report by media outlet Channel A on Thursday July 25, 2024, Incheon Airport filed a complaint with the police.
The police shared that they have summoned a security guard who worked at the scene as a witness and are conducting an investigation. Reportedly, during the investigation, the police revealed the facts that occurred at that time.
Byeon Woo Seok's security team at that time was suspected of violating criminal law for obstructing business, coercion, and assault. On July 12, 2024, Byeon Woo Seok departed for Hong Kong via Incheon International Airport to continue his fan meeting tour.
At that time, fans flocked to the airport to see off the Lovely Runner star. The controversy erupted after eyewitness reports emerged on social media of security officers controlling the airport's automatic doors to prevent crowds, shining flashlights at passengers and even checking passengers' plane tickets.
The security team has apologized and argued that it was done to prevent an incident from happening for the actor's safety. VARO Entertainment, Byeon Woo Seok's agency, also apologized and cut ties with the security agency.
