NCT WISH officially made a comeback with their second Japanese single album titled ' Songbird ' on June 26, 2024. The physical album version of the album was also released on the same date. While the Korean and global versions of the album were released on July 1, 2024.

When listening to 'Songbird' for the first time, I felt that this rookie group from SM Entertainment had its own color, but at the same time did not lose the identity of NCT as the parent group of this sub-unit. NCT is indeed one of the unique K-Pop groups because it has so many members with currently 4 sub-units, including NCT WISH.

As a rookie group, NCT WISH does not look like a group that is just starting their career because their musicality is very good. Starting from vocals, rapping, dancing, to harmonization, I can enjoy everything comfortably from the first time.

On the other hand, they also bring a touch that is currently being done by many K-Pop groups today with colorful and dreamy music videos. Although they have 2 versions of the music video, in Japanese and Korean versions, both have a mature concept and are similar to fantasy films.

So 'Songbird' seems to blend in with the many types of songs that K-Pop listeners like today, but at the same time it's not commonplace because as I mentioned before, they have their own identity. This song is perfect to describe summer because of its upbeat song and bright music video.

After this song ends, we feel like we get something fresh and believe in hope again. Lastly, this song may not be the type with an addictive hook. But 'Songbird' is still comfortable to play on repeat as a morning song to get you back in the mood.

The positive message in this song about hopes coming true can make you optimistic again to start the day better. 'Songbird' is suitable for those who like rookie groups that bring a fresh touch with good musicality. Because just like their other seniors in the NCT group, NCT WISH also adds uniqueness and diversity to the K-Pop industry.
