iKON member Song Yun Hyeong is scheduled to enlist in the military today. To be precise, on Tuesday August 13, 2024. According to his agency, 143 Entertainment, Song Yun Hyeong will be enlisting in the military privately. Without holding a farewell ceremony with fans.

"We ask for your support and words of encouragement for iKON's Song Yun Hyeong as he fulfills his mandatory military service," said 143 Entertainment, as quoted by Allkpop. For safety reasons, the agency also confirmed to fans that there will be no official events or shows on the day of his departure.

"For safety reasons, there will be no official event on the day of his departure. We ask for your understanding. Song Yun Hyeong will be performing his military service privately, in order to prevent any safety issues due to crowding at the location," he added.

Meanwhile, a day before his departure. On August 12, 2024, Song Yun Hyeong bid farewell to fans by sharing a photo of himself with a short army-style haircut. In the photo he uploaded on his personal Instagram account, iKON's Yun Hyeong along with Kim Jaejoong and June appeared to be doing a salute or respect pose. 

The idol also wrote a farewell caption to the fans. He said, " Konics, I will return safely. Thank you very much. Please take care of yourselves and wait for me with joy and impatience ." On the other hand, iKON made their official debut in 2015 with a full album titled 'Welcome Back'. 

Since then they have released many hits, including 'Love Scenario', 'My Type', 'Goodbye Road', 'Killing Me', 'Rhytm Ta', 'Apology', and '#WYD'. The group also attracted attention by appearing on the boy group competition show 'Kingdom: Legendary War'.

Earlier this year, in March, Song Yun Hyeong released his first solo album titled 'It's Call!'. The album features five songs from various genres, with the title track 'It's Call'. The title track 'It's Call' is a trot genre song that can be easily enjoyed by listeners of all ages.
