Clara Shafira Krebs successfully won the crown of Miss Universe Indonesia 2024 in an event held at H Club, SCBD, on Thursday September 19, 2024. With a smile full of emotion, Clara beat 13 other finalists to be crowned the winner.
As a model and CEO in the fashion industry, Clara has successfully built her own label called Lucille. Not only in the world of modeling and business, Clara is also active in voicing issues close to her heart, namely mental health.
Through the platform she founded, Our Safe Space, Clara provides a safe space for women to share and seek support related to mental health. In her role as a mental health advocate, Clara often shares important messages on the topic, especially for women who often face their own challenges.
Clara not only personifies 'beauty and behavior' in this beauty pageant, but also intelligence. She is a complete package of 'brain, beauty, behavior' with a cum laude degree from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), majoring in International Business. In her Instagram upload, Clara shared stories about her struggles during college.
"Graduating cum laude from my undergraduate degree at UPH is not only an academic achievement, but also a journey of profound growth and transformation. Over the past 3.5 years, I have shared countless moments of learning and discovery with friends who became family, and embarked on the challenge of building my own business," she wrote.
Clara’s accomplishments were further highlighted when she answered questions about the role of social media in her life. She realized that as a figure, her social media platform has a huge impact. Clara wants to make sure that she uses her platform to spread mental health education and inspire her followers.
"I use my social media to influence. When promoting a brand, I choose one that is in line with the values I live by. I will reject collaborations if they are not in line with my values or have a discriminatory background against women," she answered firmly during the Q&A session on the final night.
In addition to Clara, Fiza Khan was selected as the first runner-up, while Nadia Tjoa took the second runner-up position. With this victory, Clara Sha will represent Indonesia in the Miss Universe 2024 event which will be held in Mexico in November 2024.
