South Korean singer - songwriter Kwon Jin Ah has announced her separation from entertainment agency Antenna, after 10 years of working together. Quoting from Allkpop on Thursday September 5, 2024, the news of Kwon Jin Ah's departure from Antenna was conveyed directly by the agency through their official statement.
"After in-depth discussions with artist Kwon Jin Ah, it has been decided that our beautiful partnership will come to an end. We are honored to have been a part of Kwon Ji Ah's journey as she has successfully moved the hearts of many with her beautiful music," the agency said.
Antenna also said that they will continue to support Kwon Jin Ah's career and wish the singer the best in the future. "We sincerely thank Kwon Jin Ah for the past 10 years. We hope she will continue to write brilliant stories through her songs," he added.
In response to Kwon Jin Ah's departure from Antenna after 10 years together, netizens concluded that the agency had lost the image and musical color that they had carried all this time. Through the presence of Kwon Jin Ah.
Previously through artists such as Kwon Jin Ah, Sam Kim, Peppertones, Lucid Fall, Jung Jae Hyung, and many more, Antenna has successfully displayed an image as a label that leads the indie music genre.
However, with the recruitment of more mainstream artists such as Lee Hyori, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Mi Joo, and Super Junior's Kyuhyun, as well as the departure of more music-oriented artists such as Kwon Jin Ah and Sam Kim, some believe that Antenna has effectively entered the mainstream market as a competitor, and lost some of its color as a music powerhouse in the process.
On the other hand, Kwon Jin Ah started her music career after she placed 3rd in the SBS competition program 'K-Pop Star 3' in 2014. The singer who was born on July 18, 1997 then joined Antenna, and made her debut in 2016 by releasing her first full album titled 'One Strange Night'.
