SEVENTEEN's Jeonghan is preparing to enter the military on September 26, 2024. The news of the musician's enlistment was announced directly by Pledis Entertainment as SEVENTEEN's agency. The agency has confirmed that Jeonghan will not be involved in the promotions of the 12th mini album and the world tour of the boy group that sang the song Hot.
"We would like to provide news regarding Jeonghan's upcoming military enlistment, which is scheduled for September 26, 2024," Pledis Entertainment wrote in a statement on Weverse on Thursday (September 12, 2024). "As previously announced, he will not be able to join SEVENTEEN's 12th mini album promotions and world tour.
However, he will appear in pre-recorded content," the agency continued. Pledis Entertainment also explained that there will be no official events when Jeonghan enters the military. Pledis asked fans and the public not to visit the military registration location on the designated day.
Pledis closed the statement by asking for prayers and support so that the musician whose full name is Yoon Jeong-han can carry out his duties as a civilian. "We ask for your continued love and support for the artist. Please send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return," Pledis concluded. Jeonghan is the first member of SEVENTEEN to enlist in the military.
However, Jeonghan's military service plan was announced last August 2024. Pledis announced that two members will be absent from group activities in the second half of 2024. The members are Jeonghan due to his mandatory military service, and then there is Jun who is currently focusing on his career as an actor in China and so cannot participate in SEVENTEEN's world tour.
This announcement also serves as confirmation that Jeonghan last met with fans before his military service during a fan signing and when he performed at Lollapalooza Berlin which was held a few days ago. Jeonghan is expected to serve 18-21 months in the military. This is a regulation set by South Korea for men aged 18-28 to be required to serve two years in the military according to the Military Service Act of 2020.
