Taylor Swift has officially overtaken Beyonce as the winner of the most MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in the history of the prestigious annual awards event. Thanks to Moonperson's seven trophies at the 2024 MTV VMAs, Taylor Swift has collected 30 trophies since she first entered the event in 2009.
That number puts her on par with Beyonce, who has collected 26 VMA trophies as a soloist, two trophies as The Carters, and two trophies while still in Destiny's Child. At the awards event held on Wednesday September 11, 2024 local time, Taylor Swift won seven trophies, five of which came from her collaboration song with Post Malone,
Fortnight. The victory also made Post Malone the second most winner. The five trophies are from the categories of Best Direction, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Editing, Song of the Summer, and the top category of Video of the Year.
Taylor Swift also won other awards in the Artist of the Year and Best Pop categories. Taylor Swift has previously won Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs several times.
