Taylor Swift has officially overtaken Beyonce as the winner of the most MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in the history of the prestigious annual awards event. Thanks to Moonperson's seven trophies at the 2024 MTV VMAs, Taylor Swift has collected 30 trophies since she first entered the event in 2009.

That number puts her on par with Beyonce, who has collected 26 VMA trophies as a soloist, two trophies as The Carters, and two trophies while still in Destiny's Child. At the awards event held on Wednesday September 11, 2024 local time, Taylor Swift won seven trophies, five of which came from her collaboration song with Post Malone, 

Fortnight. The victory also made Post Malone the second most winner. The five trophies are from the categories of Best Direction, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Editing, Song of the Summer, and the top category of Video of the Year. 

Taylor Swift also won other awards in the Artist of the Year and Best Pop categories. Taylor Swift has previously won Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs several times. She took home the trophy for Bad Blood in 2015, You Need to Calm Down in 2019, All Too Well: The Short Film in 2022, and Anti-Hero in 2023.

He even managed to set a record as the first person to win the Artist of the Year category twice in a row since 2017. Through Fortnight, Taylor Swift also won the Best Direction trophy after previously winning the category for The Man, All Too Well: The Short Film, and Anti-Hero.

In her acceptance speech for the 2024 MTV VMA Video of the Year, Taylor Swift also mentioned her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, which was greeted by cheers from the audience in the event room. The musician thanked the athlete for being there for him, including during the production of the Fortnight video.

 According to him, having Travis Kelce on set made the shooting atmosphere more enjoyable. "My man, Travis... everything this man touches turns into happiness, fun, and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to this video," Taylor Swift gushed.
