YG Entertainment confirmed BLACKPINK's comeback plans and world tour to be held in 2025. The news comes after BLACKPINK did not do any activities as a group for the past year with the members starting activities in their respective new agencies.
YG Entertainment confirmed that the upcoming comeback plan will involve all members, including a series of world tours afterward. "In 2025, BLACKPINK plans to make a full group comeback and greet fans on a world tour," said YG Entertainment, as reported by TenAsia on Tuesday September 24, 2024. The agency has also previously mentioned BLACKPINK's latest comeback several times.
Last July, Yang Hyun-suk as the founder of YG Entertainment said BLACKPINK would be one of the busy groups again next year. However, he did not reveal details of his comeback and upcoming world tour. The latest comeback is about two years after the release of the album Born Pink in 2022 with the lead singles titled Pink Venom and Shut Down.
Previously, BLACKPINK also held a world tour, Born Pink World Tour, which started in South Korea, then continued to the United States, several European countries, and Asia. The world tour officially started from October 15, 2022 to September 17, 2023. BLACKPINK will also visit Indonesia for a concert at the Gelora Bung Karni Main Stadium (SUGBK) on March 11 and 12, 2023.
The girl group consisting of Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose then closed their world tour with a concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome which can accommodate 35 thousand spectators for each concert held over two days. After that, all BLACKPINK members announced that they had terminated their contracts with YG Entertainment and agreed to only continue group activities under the agency's auspices.
They decided to join forces and establish their own agencies, such as Jennie with her own agency called ODD ATELIER, Jisoo who took a similar step with the BLISOO agency, and Lisa who formed the LLOUD agency. Meanwhile, Rose is the only BLACKPINK member to join another agency, namely THEBLACKLABEL, which is a music label created by YG producers Teddy Park and Kush.
