Zack Snyder continues his collaboration with Netflix. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday November 17, 2024, the famous director will work on an action film that focuses on the Los Angeles Police Department.

Not only is he appointed as director, Zack Snyder will also write the script with Kurt Johnstad, an old colleague who has often worked with him. Details about the story of this film itself have not been revealed.

But interestingly, this project will offer a different approach from Zack Snyder's previous works because it is set in a more grounded and real reality. Zack Snyder recently completed the Rebel Moon film project which tells the story of Kora, a great warrior with a complicated past. She tries to free the galaxy from the grip of the cruel Imperium.

The first film in the series was released about a year ago and has been continued in Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver. Before diving into Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder directed Army of the Dead for Netflix. The heist film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, and Ana de la Reguera.

After that, Zack Snyder had the opportunity to focus on new projects. Netflix, which has been a key partner in many of Snyder's big films, is back where he continues to explore his creativity. Zack Snyder himself is known as a creator who is able to produce stories with great potential to be developed into a successful franchise .

However, with the new film reportedly set to have a more realistic story, it will be interesting to see if the project is able to achieve the commercial appeal that Netflix is looking for. Zack Snyder's partnership with Netflix paved a new path for his career after leaving Warner Bros., where he was working on the DC Extended Universe .

As is known, he has contributed to Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , and Zack Snyder's Justice League . However, due to a family tragedy, he was forced to step down from the production of the Justice League film and chose to remove himself from the project altogether.
