Jang Geun Suk admitted that he finally quit smoking. "I tried to avoid things that were bad for my health, and I naturally quit smoking. The pain I went through made me stronger," said the actor. Jang Geun Suk then revealed his ambitions after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
"To be honest, I have personal ambitions. It may sound arrogant, but I want to earn more money," said the star of the drama "The Royal Gambler". Jang Geun Suk added, "I've received so much love, and I want to give back to the people who have given it to me.
I have a dream of starting a charity, and I'm currently studying it." Jang Geun Suk said his diagnosis was a turning point in his outlook. "I once made a large donation of about 1.2 billion won to Hanyang University. I wanted to help younger students study better," he said.
Jang Geun Suk explained the moment of donating in more detail. "Because Hanyang University is my former school, I went to the hospital there. There, I saw my name on the donor list and ended up undergoing surgery in very good condition," he said.
Jang Geun Suk realized the importance of giving donations. "At that time, I realized that the kindness you give really does come back to you. It felt like a rule set by the universe. It made me think more seriously about giving."
Jang Geun Suk added, "From now on, I will work harder and make more money so that I can give back to more people. I know some people may feel uncomfortable and say, 'He's still greedy or showing off,' but I'm not afraid of criticism, I will keep my word."
