The annual BaekSang Arts Awards 2025 is set to be held on May 5, 2025. The prestigious event from South Korea will be held to honor the best artists and video works throughout the year. The nominations for the BaekSang Arts Awards were announced on Monday March 7, 2025 via the event's website and social media accounts.
Nominees were selected through works released between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. In the drama category , When Life Gives You Tangerines managed to become the drama that bagged the most nominations with a total of eight nominations. Starting from the Best Drama, Best Actor, to Best Actress categories.
Meanwhile, the film category is enlivened by a number of hit actors and actresses, such as Hyun Bin to Lee Byung-hun. There are also Kim Go-eun, Song Hye-kyo to Cho Yeo-jeong for the Best Actress category.
BaekSang Arts Awards is one of the highest award events in South Korea, besides Daejong International Film Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards. For the television category, Best Drama was won by Lovely Runner, The Tale of Lady Ok, Doubt, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and When Life Gives You Tangerines.
Several hit directors also managed to get Best Director nominations. Namely Jung Ji-in (Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born), Kim Hee-won (Light Shop), Kim Won-seok (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Lee Do-yoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call), and Song Yeon-hwa (Doubt)
In the nominations for Best Screenplay are Kim Jung-min (Family Matters), Choi Yu-na (Good Partner), Lee Si-eun (Lovely Runner), Park Ji-sook (The Tale of Lady Ok), and Lim Sang-choon (When Life Gives You Tangerines).
Meanwhile, for Best Actor there are Park Bo-gum (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Byeon Woo-seok (Lovely Runner), Lee Jun-hyuk (Love Scout), Ju Ji-hoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call), and Han Suk-kyu (Doubt). IU is another name nominated for Best Actress. She will compete with Kim Tae-ri, Kim Hye-yoon, Go Min-si, and Jang Na-ra.
Next in the Best Supporting Actor category are Choi Dae-hoon (When Life Gives You Tangerines), Hyun Bong-sik (Dongjae: The Good or the Bastard), Kim Jun-han (Good Partner), Roh Jae-won (Squid Game 2), and Yoon Kyung-ho (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call).
Best Supporting Actress is Jung Eun-chae (Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born), Kim Jae-hwa (The Tale of Lady Ok), Kim Kook-hee (Family Matters), Oh Kyung-hwa (Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born), and Yeom Hye-ran (When Life Gives You Tangerines).
Meanwhile, for the film category, the Best Film nominations were filled by Love in a Big City, Revolver, House of the Seasons, Uprising, and Harbin. Best Director nominations were obtained by Park Yi-woong (The Land of Morning Calm), Oh Seung-wook (Revolver), Woo Min-ho (Harbin), Lee Eon-he (Love in the Big City), and Lee Jong-pil (Escape).
Best New Director filled by Kim Se-hwee (Following), Nam Dong-hyeop (Handsome Guys), Oh Jung-min (House of the Seasons), Lee Mi-rang (Concerning My Daughter), Jung Ji-hye (Jeong-sun). Actor Hyun Bin also made it into the Best Actor nominations.
He is alongside Yoon Joo-sang, Lee Byung-hun, Jo Jung-suk, Hyun Bin, and Lee Hee-joon. Meanwhile, Best Actress was won by Kim Go-eun, Jeon Do-yeon, Song Hye-kyo, Cho Yeo-jeong, and Kim Geum-soon. BaekSang Arts Awards 2025 will be held on May 5, 2025.
