The South Korean K-pop and hip-hop entertainment world was once again shocked by news of the arrest of a young rapper. D.Ark, whose real name is Jin Yulin, was arrested by police on charges of distributing and using marijuana, as reported by local media on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).

According to reports, Mokpo Police executed an arrest warrant for D.Ark on Monday (October 27, 2025). He is currently under investigation for allegedly violating South Korea's Narcotics Control Act. The 21-year-old rapper has denied all allegations against him. 

A representative from his agency, D.Ark, told local media that his initial drug screening test came back negative. "We are currently awaiting the results of a more detailed analysis," the representative said, emphasizing that D.Ark remained cooperative throughout the investigation.

D.Ark, born in 2004 in Yanji, a city in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, China, is of Korean-Chinese ethnicity. He first gained public attention through his appearances on Mnet's hip-hop survival shows, such as 'Show Me the Money 777' (2018), 'Show Me the Money 9' (2020), and 'High School Rapper 4' (2021).

Under the Narcotics Control Act, those found guilty of using illegal drugs can face up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 100 million won. Meanwhile, those involved in the distribution, sale, or mediation of narcotics can face life imprisonment or a minimum of five years.
