Super Junior's Siwon has responded to fans who have recently criticized their idol. This came after he expressed his condolences to pro-Donald Trump activist Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk, known for his racist and discriminatory statements against immigrant communities, died after being shot by an unknown assailant.
He also perpetuated the use of guns in the United States, one of the most talked-about conflicts. Previously, Siwon posted an Instagram Story about Charlie Kirk's death, including a Bible verse about being a good servant. He attributed the good servant to Kirk.
Following the post, Siwon noticed a surge of criticism from fans. An anonymous Instagram account was created, calling for their idol to leave Super Junior. "Siwon Choi is hand in hand with a genocidal criminal. He shouldn't be representing Super Junior.
#Siwon_OUT," reads the bio on the Instagram account. This account also regularly uploads the post, “Siwon OUT” to ask Siwon to voluntarily leave the group. On Monday, September 15, 2025, Siwon wrote, "I love you" in English on one of the account's posts.
The comment was then liked by over 500 users. Previously, Siwon also explained why he offered his condolences to Charlie Kirk. He claimed it wasn't political, as fans claimed. "I want to clarify this because many people are discussing my post about Charlie Kirk.
He was a Christian, a leader of his household, and a husband. Regardless of the circumstances, the fact that he lost his life in a shooting while teaching students is a tragedy beyond any political position. This is why I grieve," he said.
"After posting it, I was grateful for the media attention, but because my intentions were interpreted differently, I believe I've made my point and have chosen to delete the post. However, due to the overwhelming response, I wanted to clarify," Siwon said.
