Veteran South Korean actor Lee Soon Jae reportedly passed away in the early hours of November 25, 2025, at the age of 91. The grieving family and his agency confirmed the legendary actor's passing. 

There has been no official statement regarding the cause of death, but Lee Soon Jae had reduced his activities in recent times due to health issues. Born in 1934 in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, Lee Soon Jae graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Philosophy. 

He is known as one of the oldest active actors in South Korea and has been a key part of the country's broadcasting history for over six decades. Throughout his long career, Lee Soon Jae has starred in over 100 dramas, films, and theater projects. 

Some of his phenomenal works include 'I'll Become a Man', 'Dongui Bogam', 'See and See Again', 'Three Kim Generation', 'Men of the Bath House', 'Rustic Period', 'Toji, the Land', 'Mom's Dead Upset', 'What on Earth is Love', the popular sitcom 'High Kick!', and the latest drama 'Again My Life'.

Recently, despite his declining health, Lee Soon Jae still managed to appear on stage in the production of "Waiting for Godot" and starred in the KBS2 drama "Dog Knows Everything" (2024). His role in the drama even earned him the highest award, the Daesang (Grand Prize), at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards.
