Ben Affleck added another Oscar to his two Oscars. The 53-year-old actor won the US$1 million grand prize in the celebrity edition of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire." The Mirror, as quoted on Friday, July 31, 2026, reported that Affleck appeared on the show on Wednesday night.
He paired up with Jamie Ding, a former Jeopardy! champion, to raise funds for the Eastern Congo Initiative. The organization was co-founded by Affleck in 2010. The celebrity edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire pits celebrities against quiz experts. Prize winnings go to charity.
Affleck and Ding hit the jackpot after answering the final question about Thanksgiving traditions in the United States. The question is, in the annual Thanksgiving tradition, all of the following names have been the names of turkeys pardoned by US presidents, except which one.
The answer choices are Peanut Butter & Jelly, Tater & Tot, Mac & Cheese, and Spaghetti & Meatball. Thanksgiving is a major holiday in the US. One tradition is for the president to symbolically pardon a turkey. Affleck and Ding were at a loss. They resorted to Ask-The-Host and sought advice from host Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel suggests answer D, Spaghetti & Meatball. "Actually, you know a lot about cooking and food, as well as current events. In fact, you probably know this," Affleck told Kimmel. Kimmel then joked by alluding to Donald Trump.
“I can just imagine me putting a big bowl in Donald Trump’s hands and him slurping up spaghetti and meatballs,” Kimmel said, before adding that the choice didn’t sound like the name of a turkey that had ever been pardoned. Affleck and Ding also called Stephen Morrison, Ding's friend who is also a quiz player.
Ding joked that Morrison might be a good fit for Kimmel because he's a Harvard graduate, a father, and has been through a lot with him, “like Ben and Matt.” Kimmel then touched on his long-running feud with Matt Damon.
"Are you looking for trouble?" Kimmel said. However, Morrison couldn't provide the correct answer. Affleck and Ding ultimately had to make their own decisions. They locked in the answer D, Spaghetti & Meatball. It was correct. The two took home a $1 million prize for charity.
In 2025, Matt Damon also won the same prize alongside Ken Jennings. Several other celebrities have also won the $1 million prize, including The Office stars Oscar Nuñez and Kate Flannery, comedian Ike Barinholtz and his father, Alan Barinholtz, and Chef David Chang.
Affleck's winnings went to the Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit he co-founded with Whitney Williams. The Eastern Congo Initiative website says the organization supports local institutions to expand access to essential services, strengthen economic opportunities, and promote justice in eastern Congo.
