Jo Se Ho decided to voluntarily step down from his two flagship variety programs, KBS 2TV 2 'Days & 1 Night' and tvN 'You Quiz on the Block', after rumors emerged linking him to a member of a criminal group called Mr. Choi.
On the morning of December 9, 2025, Jo Se Ho's agency, A2Z Entertainment, released an official statement stating that the entertainer takes responsibility for the controversy that has arisen.
The agency reiterated that allegations that Jo Se Ho received money or valuables from Mr. Choi to promote certain businesses are completely false. "Jo Se Ho feels deeply responsible for the recent misunderstandings and controversies.
After considering the impact on the programs and viewers, he has decided to step down from both shows," the agency wrote. Shortly after the agency's statement, Jo Se Ho personally posted a lengthy letter on his Instagram.
In it, he admitted that over the years of performing at various regional events, he had met many new people and admitted to being less careful about his social interactions. "I realize the photos circulating alone are enough to upset many people.
I should have brought laughter and comfort, not discomfort. I'm deeply sorry," Jo Se Ho wrote. He also emphasized that all the accusations linked to his acquaintance were completely untrue, but he chose to resign because he did not want to be a burden on the program and production team.
"I got married last year and am working on becoming a better person. This incident has made me even more aware of my shortcomings. I will correct any shortcomings through the necessary channels and be more stringent in managing my environment and actions in the future," he continued.
The production team of '2 Days & 1 Night' stated, "We respect the decision made by Jo Se Ho and his agency after careful consideration." Meanwhile, the 'You Quiz on the Block' team has not yet made an official statement.
Meanwhile, for the Netflix program 'Screwballs' which also stars Jo Se Ho, the production team stated that the episodes that have been recorded will still air as scheduled, while his participation in future episodes is still under internal discussion.
