BLACKPINK's Lisa is signing on as the lead actress in an upcoming Netflix original romantic comedy. Deadline reported that Lisa will star in the untitled film, partnering with executive producer David Bernad.

The two first connected while filming the third season of HBO’s hit series The White Lotus. The project reportedly stems from a shared love for the classic 1999 rom-com Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

Lisa and Bernad bonded over the film while on the set of The White Lotus and began brainstorming ideas. To bring their vision to life, they recruited acclaimed screenwriter Katie Silberman, known for the Netflix hit Set It Up and the critically praised Booksmart.

Lisa will not only star in the film but also serve as an executive producer alongside Alice Kang through her own label, LLOUD Co. Lisa made her debut as Mook, a wellness expert, in The White Lotus Season 3. Currently, she is busy filming a major role in TYGO, the latest installment in Netflix’s action-packed Extraction universe.

Her musical career remains just as dominant. Her first solo full-length album, Alter Ego, released last February, became a global phenomenon, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and topping the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

With a production team led by Emmy and Golden Globe-winning producer David Bernad and star writer Katie Silberman, the collaboration is already generating massive buzz in the film industry. The official title and plot details will be revealed at a later date.
