BELIFT LAB's agency has released a new statement emphasizing that Heeseung will not be returning to the group ENHYPEN. Last week, they announced Heeseung's departure along with plans for a solo debut.
At the time, the agency explained that Heeseung had a different musical vision from the group, which led him to choose to go solo. Fans considered the decision sudden, as the leader's departure came amidst ENHYPEN's busy schedule.
A few days after the announcement, many ENHYPEN fans, also known as ENGENE, protested in front of the HYBE building. They also created a petition to allow Heeseung to return to ENHYPEN and still debut as a solo artist.
BELIFT LAB later made a new statement emphasizing that Heeseung did not return to the group because of his decision. “Heeseung will not be returning to ENHYPEN,” BELIFT LAB told The Korea Herald .
“He (Heeseung) has a clear decision regarding what he wants to achieve and we choose to respect that,” he said. The agency reportedly made this decision due to ENHYPEN 's busy schedule and that it would be best for Heeseung to focus entirely on his solo career.
They also hope fans will understand this decision. Following Heeseung's departure, their variety show has also been on hiatus indefinitely. ENHYPEN performed with six members in Australia on March 14, 2026. Meanwhile, Heeseung will debut as a solo singer under BELIFT LAB.
