South Korean actor Kwak Dong Yeon will be enlisting in the military this coming August 2026, according to his agency THEBLACKLABEL. Kwak will join the Army on Aug. 25, without any special events to mark his enlistment, according to The Black Label.
"Kwak Dong Yeon will begin his mandatory military service on August 25, 2026, and will carry out his duties with full responsibility," said THEBLACKLABEL, as quoted by Soompi, on Tuesday (July 21, 2026)
However, Kwak Dong Yeon is reportedly still likely to greet fans through a special variety show commemorating the 10th anniversary of the drama “Love in the Moonlight,” which is scheduled to take place in early August.
Kwak Dong Yeon's latest appearance also includes a special role in the Netflix series "The East Palace," which is currently airing. Previously, Kwak Dong Yeon made his acting debut in 2012 through the KBS2 drama “My Husband Got a Family”.
Since then, Kwak Dong Yeon has starred in a number of popular dramas such as “Love in the Moonlight,” “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty,” “Vincenzo,” and “Queen of Tears.” Most recently, he appeared in the first season of the reality show "The Village Barber," alongside Park Bo-gum and Lee Sang-yi.
