Vivo's sub-owned brand iQOO has launched its flagship 9 series of smartphones in India. The line-up consists of the vanilla 9 SE, 9, and 9 Pro. The iQOO 9 series starts at Rs. 33,990 for the 8GB/128GB variant of the 9 SE. Buyers can avail a discount of up to Rs. 6,000 via ICICI credit cards along with an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 4,000.
The iQOO 9 series arrives in India with the tagline "India's most advanced flagship." Ever since the smartphones had debuted in China, Indians have been eagerly awaiting their launch. To make things interesting, the company has introduced an India-specific entry-level 9 SE model. Also, we must not forget that the 9 Pro has become the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered device in India.
The iQOO 9 SE, 9, and 9 Pro offer a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED, 6.56-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED, and 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen, respectively, with a 120Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 9 Pro also features LTPO 2.0 technology, HDR10+ support, 1,500-nits of peak brightness, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The India-specific iQOO 9 series sports a centrally-aligned punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, the India-specific iQOO 9 SE, 9, and 9 Pro are powered by a Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 888+, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, respectively, mated with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. They house a 4,500mAh, 4,300mAh, and 4,700mAh battery, respectively, with up to 120W fast-charging support. At the heart, the smartphones boot Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the iQOO 9 SE sports a 48MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide snapper, and a monochrome camera. The vanilla 9 has a 48MP primary shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP telephoto snapper, whereas the 9 Pro flaunts a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 16MP telephoto lens. Up front, the trio has a 16MP selfie shooter.
For official pricing and availability, the iQOO 9 series starts at Rs. 33,990 for the 8GB/128GB variant of the 9 SE and goes up to Rs. 69,990 for the 12GB/256GB model of the 9 Pro. Pre-orders for the 9 Pro and 9 start today, while the iQOO 9 SE will be up for pre-orders from March 2. A loyalty bonus of Rs. 10,000 is available for existing iQOO customers.
