South Korean tech, Samsung has launched its most advanced series of smartphones, called the Galaxy S22 series, in India. The flagship range had made its global debut on February 9. As for the priced, the S22 series starts at Rs. 72,999 for the base 8GB/128GB model of the vanilla S22 and goes up to Rs. 1,18,999 for the 12GB/512GB variant of the S22 Ultra. The handsets are available for pre-orders in India.

Ever since the rest of the world found out how much Samsung's flagship Galaxy S22 series costs, Indians have been waiting for their turn. The Galaxy S22 series arrives here with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip instead of an Exynos SoC like in the previous years. Moreover, the Galaxy S22 Ultra's 8GB/128GB and 12GB/1TB variants have not been launched in India.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ sport a 6.1-inch and 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, while the S22 Ultra bears a 6.8-inch QHD+ screen. They offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The Galaxy S22 series sports a punch-hole cut-out on the top-center, slim bezels, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Only the S22 Ultra supports S Pen.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is fueled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. On the front software, the smartphones boot Android 12-based One UI 4.1. The Galaxy S22 packs a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast-charging support, whereas the S22+ and S22 Ultra house a 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh battery, respectively, with 45W fast-charging capability.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ have a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 10MP telephoto lens. On the front, they have a 10MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra packs a 108MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 10MP telephoto snappers with 10x optical zoom. For selfies, it sports a 40MP shooter.

For official pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ start at Rs. 72,999 and Rs. 84,999 ,respectively, for their base 8GB/128GB models. The S22 Ultra is priced at Rs. 1,09,999 for the entry-level 8GB/128GB variant. The South Korean tech company is yet to announce the availability details of the smartphones in India.
