Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its 12 series of smartphones in India. In the latest development, MySmartPrice in collaboration with Mukul Sharma, has tipped that the high-end 12 Pro will be introduced in Q1 of FY 2022. It could mean that the handset will be available sometime in April. The report has also mentioned that the 12 Pro will be priced aggressively.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the company's most advanced smartphone to date. It was launched in China last December 2021. We have always known that the device will be introduced in India, but this is the first time we have come across a definite timeline. With a competitive price-tag, it will take on rivals such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6.73-inch QHD+ (1440x3200 pixels) E5 AMOLED LTPO 2.0 display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,500-nits of peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The smartphone bears a punch-hole cut-out on the top-center, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint reader. It sports a rectangular camera unit on the rear.
In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 12 Pro flaunts a triple rear camera arrangement, including a 50MP (f/1.9) primary shooter, a 50MP (f/1.9) telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 50MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. Up front, it has a 32MP selfie snapper. The smartphone packs a 4,600mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless fast-charging support.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is fueled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. At the heart, it boots Android 12-based MIUI 13 OS out of the box. The smartphone offers support for Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, 5G, and a Type-C port.
For pricing and availability, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is said to be priced aggressively in India. Therefore, we can expect it to cost around Rs. 60,000. For reference, it starts at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 55,500) in China. The smartphone comes in Black, Green, Blue, and Pink color options.
