Huawei is working to introduce its next-generation foldable smartphone, called the Mate X3, in China. According to the latest reports, the handset is expected to go official by the end of this month. However, there is no official word as of now. The Mate X3 was recently spotted on the TENAA platform, revealing its key features as well as specifications.

Huawei ranks among the first few companies that have successfully made their entry into the world of foldable devices. The Chinese tech company has already introduced a couple of devices that are currently available in the market. However, it is now preparing to introduce the third-generation foldable smartphone. With the Mate X3, Huawei aims to rival Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The Huawei Mate X3 will reportedly bear an 8.0-inch OLED foldable screen and a 6.5-inch OLED cover display. Both the screens will support a 90Hz or higher refresh rate. The device will likely have an inward folding design, a pill-shaped punch-hole cut-out on its cover display, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it is expected to feature a quad camera setup.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Huawei Mate X3 is expected to feature a quad rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor. The foldable phone is likely to have a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video calls. It will pack a 4,500mAh battery which will support 55W fast-charging.

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate X3 is said to be backed by a Kirin 9000 processor. As for the operating system, the smartphone will run on HarmonyOS 2.0.1 out of the box. The smartphone will also offer support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and a Type-C port.

The official pricing and availability for the Huawei Mate X3 will be revealed at the time of its launch, probably by the end of this month. However, it is expected to cost around CNY 16,800 (roughly Rs. 2 lakh). The smartphone should comes in Black, White, Light Blue, and Rose Gold colour options.
