Lenovo's sub-brand Motorola is all set to announce its Moto G22 in India next week, according to 91mobiles. However, there is no official word yet regarding the arrival of the smartphone in the country. To recall, it was introduced in the European market last month. The handset comes with a 90Hz display, a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset and a 50MP primary camera.

The Motorola Moto G22 is a budget offering and will take on entry-level smartphones in India from rivals such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Vivo. It made its global debut last month in the European market with minor upgrades over its predecessor, the Moto G20. The handset packs decent hardware and the lack of 5G connectivity is unlikely to dissuade buyers in India.

The Motorola Moto G22 bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ration and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone features a top-centered punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, a plastic body, and a water-resistant build quality. It has a fingerprint scanner on the right side of the frame and a quad camera unit on the rear.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G22 comes with a quad rear camera setup comprising a 50MP (f/1.8) primary camera, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro as well as depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP (f/2.5) snapper for selfies and video calls. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging.

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto G22 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, paired with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. At the heart, the smartphone runs on Android 12 OS and offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with a dedicated micro-SD card slot to expand storage. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Type-C port.

For official pricing and availability, the Motorola Moto G22 carries a price-tag of €170 (roughly Rs. 14,000) for its sole 4GB/64GB model. In India, it will be priced under Rs. 15,000. The smartphone should be available in shades of Iceberg Blue, Cosmic Black, and Pearl White color options.
