The Xiaomi 12 series made its worldwide premiere last year 2021, with models coming into Europe, , the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The smartphone series comprises three models—the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X. The Chinese tech company has now announced that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be released in India on April 12,

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G features a 6.73-inch 10-bit LTPO AMOLED display with a Quad-HD+ resolution, 1500nits of peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate and 80,00,000:1 contrast ratio. The display is HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certified and is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and Adreno GPU. 

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G comes equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor with 1/1.28-inch sensor size, an f/1.9 aperture, and 24mm focal length. It is paired with a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle lens with a 115° field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. They’re accompanied by a 50MP Samsung JN1 portrait lens with f/1.9 aperture, and 2x optical zoom.  On the front, the device packs a 32MP shooter with an 80.5° field of view for selfies and video calls. 

There’s a 4,600mAh battery cell with support for 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options on the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port. In terms of storage, the smartphone is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

As for the pricing and availability, Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G will soon be available in India, with its debut scheduled for April 12. The smartphone comes in Gray, Blue, Purple, and Green colour variants. However, the Chinese tech company hasn’t revealed if the other two smartphones in the series will be launched in the country.
