Kim Woo Bin's latest Korean drama, Black Knight, has premiered on Netflix. All six episodes of Black Knight will air simultaneously on Friday May 12, 2023. Black Knight marks the actor's comeback after starring in Our Blues. Fans will see Kim Woo Bin's appearance as a 'Black Knight'.
Apart from Kim Woo Bin, the Korean drama Black Knight also stars famous Korean artists such as Song Seung Heon and Esom. Adapted from the webtoon, Black Knight depicts a situation in 2071 when the world has been destroyed by deadly air pollution. Only about 1% of the population survived and formed social classes.
People rarely leave their homes and when they do, they require gas masks due to air pollution. Residents also depend on parcel services for their needs. Knight 5-8 (played by Kim Woo Bin) is a legendary messenger skilled in battle. He helps humanity's survival by delivering oxygen during the day and living a double life as the 'Black Knight' at night.
One day, Knights 5-8 meet the boy Yoon Sa Wol (played by Kang You Seok), who becomes a refugee. Yoon Sa Wol herself has dreamed of becoming a knight and admires the figure of Knight 5-8. His life is saved by an officer Seol Ah (played by Esom) who becomes his family figure. Knights 5-8 also decide to train Yoon Sa Wol to become a knight like him.
The Korean drama Black Knight became a reunion event for Kim Woo Bin and Esom. The two of them had acted together in the Korean drama White Christmas in 2011. While attending the Black Knight press conference, Kim Woo Bin expressed his feelings about being reunited with the Korean drama star Taxi Driver.
"I worked with Esom on my first drama and we met again on set after a long time." "He's not the beautiful Esom that I used to know. He's very charismatic and tough.
