Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon have been confirmed to star in SBS's latest Korean drama titled 'La Mante'. Quoting from Soompi on July 23, 2024, Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon will take the main roles in this drama.
The drama is directed by Byun Young Joo, the director behind the successful films 'Helpless', 'Flying Boys', 'Ardor', and 'Habitual Sadness 2', while the script is written by Lee Young Jong who previously wrote 'The Flu', 'Lucid Dream', 'The Chase', and '12.12: The Day'.
'La Mante' is a drama adapted from a French thriller series of the same title released in 2017. This drama will tell the story of a woman who has been imprisoned for a long time for being a serial killer. When a series of murders that reflect his signature style come to light, he is approached by the police to help solve the case.
Go Hyun Jung will play Jung Yi Shin, a serial killer nicknamed Mantis who brutally murdered five men 20 years ago. Go Hyun Jung finally returns to the small screen after previously appearing in the Netflix series 'Mask Girl'.
Go Hyun Jung is a senior actress who has starred in various popular works, including 'The Great Queen Seondeok', 'The Queen's Classroom', 'Dear My Friends', 'My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2: Crime and Punishment', and many more. Meanwhile, Jang Dong Yoon will play Cha Soo Yeol, the son of Jung Yi Shin, a police officer involved in solving the Mantis copycat murder case.
Cha Soo Yeol hates his mother so much. However, when a murder occurs whose method imitates Mantis, Cha Soo Yeol asks for his mother's help. Jang Dong Yeoon was previously known for his roles in Korean dramas 'Joseon Exorcist', 'The Tale of Nokdu', 'Mr. Sunshine', 'School 2017', 'Daily Dose of Sunshine', and many more.
