Actor Chae Jong Hyeop recently revealed his impressions and details of his character in the Korean drama 'Serendipity's Embrace' which was released on July 22, 2024. Adapted from a popular webtoon, 'Serendipity's Embrace' tells the story of young people who find true love and achieve their dreams after accidentally meeting their first love 10 years ago.
Chae Jong Hyeop admitted that he was immediately interested when he read the title of this drama, so he finally agreed to join as the main actor. "The title caught my attention. It's a story about first love that you meet by chance. It vaguely reminds me of my school days," Chae Jong Hyeop was quoted as saying by Soompi.
He added, “When I read the script, I was curious and entertained by the idea of meeting your first love again by chance. I think the charm of this drama is how these bright and lively characters find and experience the emotion of love.” In 'Serendipity's Embrace', Chae Jong Hyeop plays Kang Hoo Young, a handsome and intelligent financial planner.
He lives in the United States and returns to Korea after 10 years. Kang Hoo Young finds his heart beating again when he returns to Korea for the first time in a long time and unexpectedly reunites with Lee Hong Joo (played by Kim So Hyun), his first love in high school, after 10 years.
The actor then described his character by saying that Kang Hoo Young is not good at expressing his feelings and does not show his emotions to others. “Hoo Young is smart, but he is lacking in many ways. He doesn’t know how to express his emotions and has a clumsy side. Sometimes he seems dry, rude, or cynical,” said Chae Jong Hyeop.
He added, "But when he meets the loving Hong Joo, he slowly falls more and more in love with her, and the walls around his heart begin to crumble.” Next, Chae Jong Hyeop highlighted the important points of the drama story 'Serendipity's Embrace'. "The thing about destiny is that you never know when it will come, and coincidences can be the beginning of something," said the actor who was born on May 19, 1993.
Lastly, Chae Jong Hyeop shared his impressions of acting with actress Kim So Hyun. “Some people might think that So Hyun is a cold person, but that’s not true at all.
