The film is planned to be produced by Millie Bobby Brown's PCMA Productions. The Stranger Things actress is also said to be the lead actor and producer for the film. Meanwhile, the screenplay will be written by Anthony McCarten.
He is the figure behind the films The Theory of Everything (2014), Darkest Hour (2017), Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), and The Two Popes (2019). On the other hand, there is still no news regarding the director who will direct the film based on the adaptation of the actress' novel.

The book is set during World War II and was inspired by the story of Millie Bobby Brown's grandmother at that time. Nineteen Steps centers on the story of an 18-year-old teenager named Nellie Morris.
