Through its official account on platform X, the Malaysian Ministry of Health confirmed that the statement criticizing the song 'APT' was not issued or authorized by the Malaysian Government. This clarification follows news reports that aired in several media outlets in South Korea, such as Koreaboo, Allkpop, and the Korea Times.

"We would like to emphasize that the post was made by an entity that is not related to the Ministry in any way. Please be careful of unverified information circulating online, as it may cause confusion and misinformation among the public," wrote the Malaysian Ministry of Health's X account, Tuesday October 29, 2024.

"Therefore, we urge the public to rely on official MOH channels for verified information and updates on public health issues," he added. In the viral news, the Malaysian Ministry of Health was said to have criticized the song 'APT' by Blackpink's Rose and Bruno Mars because it was considered to support an unhealthy lifestyle and the normalization of western culture.

The Malaysian Health Ministry also highlighted the title 'APT' which is an abbreviation of apartment. According to them, it describes an invitation and temptation that is closely related to western culture that is not in accordance with Eastern culture.

"They also took issue with the lyrics 'Kissy face, kissy face, sent to your phone but, I'm trying to kiss your lips for real' and 'let's turn the apartment into a club, drink and dance all night," wrote the viral report published in the Korea Times.
