Moon Taeil also known as Taeil was named a suspect by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on suspicion of rape. The former NCT member was named a suspect along with two other people who were said to be Taeil's accomplices.
Quoted from News1 , Taeil and two other suspects are considered to have violated the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (special degree rape). However, with this suspect status, Taeil and two other people were not detained until the trial process was completed.
This was done because Taeil and the two other suspects were considered cooperative because they had admitted their actions. If Taeil is found guilty, he faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.
Previously, Moon Taeil was accused of sexually assaulting a drunk woman in June last year. The Seoul Bangbae Police Station, which handled the case, summoned Taeil for questioning on August 28, 2024 and submitted the case to the prosecution in September of the same year.
Moon Taeil debuted with NCT in 2016 and was a member of the unit groups NCT U and NCT 127. Since this case emerged, SM Entertainment terminated Taeil's exclusive contract since October 2024.
