The Seoul Bangbae Police Station, which handled the investigation, summoned Taeil for questioning on August 28, 2024, and then the case was handed over to the prosecution in September 2024.
Taeil and two others violated the Sexual Crimes Act, specifically related to aggravated rape. Despite their status as suspects, Taeil and the other two were not detained until the trial took place. This decision was taken because they were considered cooperative and had admitted to their actions.
Now, Taeil and the other two defendants await the trial process to determine their legal fate. If found guilty, the man born on June 14, 1994 risks facing a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or a prison sentence of no more than seven years.
Taeil first debuted with NCT in 2016. The 30-year-old was a member of the units NCT U and NCT 127. Since the harassment case surfaced, SM Entertainment decided to terminate Taeil's exclusive contract in October 2024.
