YouTuber and nature adventure guide Andrew Cross, known as the 'Desert Drifter', passed away on Tuesday March 4, 2025. For a month after his car accident, Andrew was on a mobile ventilator.
His life support was removed by medical staff because his condition was beyond help. This sad news was conveyed by his sister, Jenna, via the CaringBridge page which was created to provide the latest information on Cross' condition.
"Hi friends, Andrew's soul is now free, surrounded by light and love," Jenna wrote in her post, adding that the YouTuber's passing was peaceful and loving, with his parents, closest friends, and wife Evelyn by his side as he was taken off life support," Jenna said.
As a final sign of respect, the medical team took Andrew around the ICU on a mobile ventilator before his life support was removed. "Medical staff lined the hallway in his honor.
Inside, family and friends prayed and sang hymns during his life support process and more than an hour after he passed away. It was a peaceful and beautiful moment," Jenna added. Andrew Cross suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident on January 31. Andrew died at the age of 36.
