BIGHIT MUSIC finally introduces CORTIS, a new group ready to shake up the K-pop industry. At their debut showcase held in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on August 18, 2025, the five members of CORTIS confidently declared, "We are a team like bibimbap," describing the unique harmony of the diverse elements they combine.

CORTIS consists of five talented members: Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho. The group's name is derived from the acronym 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' which means "coloring outside the lines." This concept reflects their passion for breaking away from societal norms and rules, and thinking freely and creatively.

"We're like bibimbap because when we create songs or music videos, we combine various colors of ingredients into one harmonious mixture that produces quality work," the members said at the press conference. This group aspires to become independent singer-songwriters.

Beyond singing and dancing, the five members are actively involved in lyric writing, music composition, choreography, and video production. Martin and James have even contributed to projects by their seniors, such as ILLIT and TXT. Seonghyeon explained their creative process: "CORTIS's way of working can be summarized as 'putting our heads together.'

At first, we worked separately, but the results were less than satisfactory. Then we tried collaborating, even on a single line of lyrics, and it resulted in a work we both liked. This strengthened our belief in teamwork." CORTIS's debut major single, "What You Want," blends 1960s-era psychedelic rock guitar riffs with hip-hop-based boom bap rhythms.

The song was selected from over 300 entries, demonstrating a rigorous selection process to ensure the highest quality." Previously, we only participated in songs by our seniors at HYBE, but now we can stand on stage under the name CORTIS with our teammates.

This is a great honor. We ask for everyone's support and attention in the future," they added enthusiastically. CORTIS' debut album titled 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' is scheduled for release on September 8. With a background from the label that has given birth to BTS and TXT, CORTIS is predicted to be a new sensation in the K-pop entertainment world.
