Netflix has officially set October 3rd as the global premiere date for its new series Genie, Make a Wish, inviting audiences into a whimsical world of fantasy romantic comedy just in time for the Chuseok holiday.

The series follows Genie (Kim Woo Bin), a lamp spirit awakened after a thousand years, who crosses paths with Ga Young (Suzy), a human seemingly incapable of emotion. What unfolds is a laugh-out-loud yet heart-fluttering battle of wits over three wishes.

With Genie naïve to the ways of the world and Ga Young detached from feelings, their unlikely bond sparks a romance that’s as sweet as it is electrifying. Much of the anticipation centers on the reunion of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy—arguably one of K-drama’s most beloved pairings.

Kim transforms into the devilish lamp spirit known as Iblis, while Suzy takes on the role of Ga Young, the new and unusual master of the lamp. Together, they promise to deliver a love story unlike anything seen before.

Joining the duo are Ahn Eun Jin, Noh Sang Hyun, Go Gyu Pil, and Lee Joo Young, adding layers of humor and intrigue to the show’s offbeat magical universe. The newly unveiled poster and teaser highlight the show’s dazzling visuals and the pair’s golden chemistry.

In the teaser, Suzy stands in a shimmering desert holding the lamp. As it begins to glow, golden sandstorms rise and the mysterious Genie materializes, whispering an ominous prophecy: “I will scour the world and find you again.

Remember this, I will seek you out, and my name is Iblis.” That revelation—that the wish-granting Genie is none other than Iblis, the fallen angel often equated with Satan—raises tantalizing questions about where this romance will lead.

Meanwhile, Ga Young’s unshaken expression despite Genie’s dramatic entrance hints at deeper mysteries behind her sealed emotions. The tagline on the poster, “Come forth into corruption,” only heightens the suspense around their fateful connection.
