Fantagio's agency released another official statement on January 27th in response to allegations of tax evasion involving one of its artists, Cha Eun Woo. In the statement, the agency expressed its deepest apologies for causing concern to the public due to the recent situation.

Fantagio stated that authorities are currently verifying the facts in accordance with applicable tax procedures. The agency emphasized that both the company and Cha Eun Woo are cooperating and will comply with the full investigation as required by the tax authorities.

If a clear legal and administrative decision is made, Fantagio is committed to taking responsible steps in accordance with the results. In addition to providing clarification, Fantagio also asked the public to refrain from baseless speculation and the spread of unverified information.

As an evaluation measure, the agency promised to review and strengthen its artist management system to prevent similar controversies in the future. The case first surfaced on January 22, 2025, when reports emerged that Cha Eun Woo had been under investigation by Investigation Bureau 4 of the Seoul Regional Tax Office since last year.

The National Tax Service reportedly issued a notification regarding fines or additional tax assessments totaling over 20 billion won. Before the agency's statement came out, Cha Eun Woo himself had already personally apologized via a post on his Instagram account on January 26, 2026.
