Mark is leaving both NCT and SM Entertainment. SM Entertainment shared the news on April 3, 2026, saying, “We have had lengthy and in-depth discussions with Mark regarding his future activities.
We have agreed to conclude his exclusive contract as of April 8th, following thorough conversations between both parties. Consequently, Mark will be ending all NCT activities, including those with NCT 127 and NCT DREAM.”
The agency added, “Since his debut with NCT in 2016, Mark has demonstrated outstanding capabilities not only in group activities but also as a solo artist, showcasing a remarkable career over the past decade.
We express our gratitude for the precious time we have spent together and sincerely support Mark’s future endeavors as he embarks on a new journey after leaving the team.”
SM Entertainment also clarified, “Moving forward, NCT 127 will continue activities with seven members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Haechan.
NCT DREAM will proceed with six members: Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung.” They promised, “We will continue to provide full support for the activities of all NCT members and strive to do our best for the fans who consistently love NCT.”
Mark has been an important member of several NCT units, including NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. He also participated in SuperM, a project group made up of SM’s top male artists.
