Netflix announced that the highly anticipated new drama, 'Mousetrap', will premiere on August 28, 2026. The drama is adapted from the webtoon 'Field Mouse' and tells the story of an exiled novelist named Moon Jae, played by Ryu Jun Yeol, who loses everything due to a mysterious figure known as 'The Rat'.
In 'Mousetrap,' Moon Jae must fight to reclaim his identity and life by forming an unlikely alliance with a loan shark named No Ja, played by Sul Kyung Gu. Together, they embark on a suspenseful quest, where the boundaries between reality and deception begin to crumble, and deeper truths are revealed.
The newly released trailer and poster show Moon Jae's precarious situation. If he fails to prove himself as the real Moon Jae, he will be declared an impostor. At the beginning of the teaser, Moon Jae is seen living a monotonous and boring life at home.
However, everything changes when his mobile banking app fails to recognize his fingerprint, preventing him from logging in. Moon Jae then comes to the shocking realization that someone called 'The Rat' has been plotting to take everything from him for years.
After years of living in seclusion, even those around him don't recognize him, making it seemingly impossible to prove his identity. After their lives are taken, Moon Jae and No Ja embark on an action-packed journey to find the man who stole their identities.
This drama promises suspense and mystery that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. While waiting for 'Mousetrap' to premiere on August 28, 2026, fans can catch Ryu Jun Yeol in 'Alienoid: Return to the Future' on Viki.
