Samsung has launched the Galaxy M42 5G in the Indian market. It has a mid-range price tag and it is the first M-series device which is supporting 5G connectivity. The main key attraction features of the Galaxy M42 5G are a Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, and a large 5,000mAh battery. According to design and features, it is renamed version of Galaxy A42.
The Samsung Galaxy M42 has a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED infinity-U display. It carries 720 x 1600 pixels of resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset along with Adreno 619 GPU. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, users can expand its memory capacity through a microSD card (up to 1TB).
The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G houses a 20MP front camera. Coming to the back camera, it is providing a quad-camera setup embedded into a square module. The back sensors are a 48MP GM2 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 5MP camera with a depth sensor. The Android supporting smartphone has Samsung’s own OneUI 3.1 interface
The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging technology. Samsung claims that it provides 36 hours of battery back up in standby and 22 hours of back up while internet browsing. Connectivity options are 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack. The handset also comes with Knox security and Samsung Pay.
As for the pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G cost is set at Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. The other variant is 8GB RAM + 128GB storage capacity that carries a price tag of Rs. 23,999. It will be going on sale from May 1st via Amazon.in, Samsung.com, and other retail. Samsung has provided two color options, i.e. Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Grey.
