Thursday January 18, 2024 KST, NCT's new unit finally officially announced the name for their group. The unit which was originally known as NCT NEW TEAM was given the name NCT WISH. Along with this, the group is known to have also changed the names of several of their official social media accounts, which were previously called NCT NEW TEAM to NCT WISH.
Starting from Instagram, Twitter, to YouTube. Apart from that, NCT WISH also appeared to share a number of video teasers as well as group and individual photos for their upcoming debut via social media. The upcoming debut will also be the closing debut for the NCT unit.
As is known, last year SM Entertainment announced that NCT WISH would be the final part of NCT's unlimited expansion. Different from other units, NCT WISH was formed through a survival show made by SM Entertainment.
Through an event called NCT Universe: LASTART, SM trainees compete with each other to be able to debut in NCT's new unit. At the end of the event, seven people were selected to be included in the debut lineup, including Sion and Yushi who had been confirmed as members of the new unit before the show started.
But unfortunately, one of the members, Jungmin, then decided to leave the group due to health problems. Because of this, NCT WISH now only has six people left, consisting of Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee (formerly known as Daeyoung), Ryo, and Sakuya.
After the group name was announced and the teaser was released, many netizens said they couldn't wait to welcome NCT WISH's debut. Various supports also came for the group. "Welcome to NCT WISH, best wishes for you," said netizens. "Finally the one we've been waiting for appears too, NCT WISH can't wait OMG, let's goo," said another.
"My hope is that you can shine as bright as your hyung one day baby neo," added another netizen. Meanwhile, NCT WISH previously released a pre-debut single entitled "Hands Up" along with the MV for the song on October 19, 2023. Wow, who can't wait for NCT WISH's debut?
